Pre-Diwali Celebration 2019

A pre-Diwali celebration was held in our school on 25th October 2019. The school auditorium was decorated for the occasion. An exquisite rangoli was placed in front of the Principal’s office. The credit for the magnificence of the school goes to Madam Ratna and her team. The programme was hosted by Tanishtha Agarwal of class VIII. It started with a delightful message in Sanskrit. Then the guests, namely, Rev. Fr. Nelson Joseph, Rev. Fr. SurjitTigga, Rev.Bro.Regy Cherukunel, Rev.Bro. Bosco Ekka and Rev. Sr. Flora were felicitated on the occasion. The programme was given a motion by lighting the lamps. The honourable guests, accompanied by Sir Arindwam and Soumyaparna Mukherjee of Class XI lighted the lamps. Then the school leaders and assistant leaders along with the captains of all the houses lighted the lamps which really sparkled the stage.

A blissful bhajan was sung by Madam Aparajita and her team of students entitled ‘Achhotamkeshavamkrishndamodaram’. A passage from the Holy Bible was read by Tejos shan, followed by the divine verses from the Bhagwat Gita by Nishtha Dev. Jeba Fauzia read the sacred lines from the Holy Quran and Jiya Baid read a passage from the Holy Book of Agam. Their divine act expanded the eternity in the atmosphere.

The classical dance expressed a strong powerful feeling of the Goddess Lakshmi, while a western dance added an energetic flavour to the occasion. Tanisha Dharof class XI delivered a speech on Diwali, covering different aspects such as the celebration, the motive of celebration and concern for the environment. It was followed by a speech by Fr.Surjit Tigga, the Vice-Principal who greeted everyone a very happy and pollution free Diwali. The programme ended with an exhortation to celebrate a pollution free Diwali.
