THE SCOTLAND TO THE EAST

THE SCOTLAND TO THE EAST
A visit to ‘the Scotland of the east’ Shillong was a thrilling as well as a soothing experience at the same time – the beautiful locations, wonderful people and their rich culture and breathtaking waterfalls and serene lakes, all add to the splendor of this small hillside city.
The members of the dance group and the school band along with two teachers were given the proud priviledge to be a part of the grand ceremony at Shillong which crewed Fr. Paul Olphindro as the Provincial of Shillong province.
We moved from Silchar on the morning of 22nd May 2018 and reached there by the afternoon. Our first evening was spent playing around in our dream. The next morning was spent rehearsing for the programme. We had the program in the evening and we all were highly appreciated by the Fathers, brothers and sisters present there. The third day was spent viewing and enjoying the beautiful picturesque locations of Shillong. Viewing the whole of northeast in the museum, running around at the polo ground, sharing umbrellas in the rain, splashing water at the elephant falls and boating at the Ward’s Lake were some of the most beautiful and memorable moments we spent together.
The next morning we had to bid goodbye to Shillong and moved towards Guwahati. The whole day was spent playing around at Accoland and at around 12.00am we took a train for Silchar.
The Shillong trip was one of the most memorable times we have spent in Don Bosco and we sincerely thank Fr. Nelson for guiding us all throughout.
“WISHING REV. FR. PAUL OLPHINDRO THE VERY BEST OF LUCK AS HE CARRIES OUT THIS TOUGH RESPONSIBILITY AS OUR PROVINCIAL”.
